He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Cecil and Nora Becknell (Word); his wife Frances; his grandson Collin Brett Hardison; and his brothers, Cecil and Jerry Becknell.

He is survived by: his children, Bobby Becknell (Nancy) of Quanah and Jana Hardison (Mike) of Vernon; his grandchildren, Michael Hardison (Kristin), Megan Stewart (Bert), Regan Moore (Brian) and Colby Hardison; and his great grandchildren, Zac Stevens, Collin Michael Hardison, Benton Stewart, Isabella Hardison, Charlie Stewart and Harper Moore.
