He was predeceased by: his parents, William O. Akers and Martha D. Akers (Hamilton); his wife Sandra Sue Donathan Walser; his granddaughter Krissa Walser; and his great grandchildren, Leighton and Landrie Mankins.

He is survived by: his children, Randa Betts (Todd) of Olney, Jana Walser of Quanah, Dorman Walser (Debra) of Wichita Falls and Brian Walser (Diane) of Wichita Falls; his brothers, Rex Akers (Brooke) of Colleyville and Danny Akers (Jeri) of Lubbock; and his grandchildren, Ashlynn Rueztel, Keith Walser (Kelli), Jay D. Ray (Amanda), Alesha Matthews (John), Kent Walser, Lauren Walser, Kade Betts (Alyssa), Jordan Roland, Halli Mankins (Reed) and Matthew Roland. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 397, Quanah, Texas 79252.
