John Wayne Ashcraft Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Wayne Ashcraft of Quanah, Texas, who passed away on February 5, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ashcraft and Opal Ashcraft (Hulsey); and his siblings, James Ashcraft, Robert Ashcraft, Marjene Thatcher and Victoria Terry.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Ashcraft of Quanah; his children, Matt Ashcraft (Shyla) and Amanda Ross (Corey); his grandchildren, Heather Ruiz, Chris of Lubbock, Tyson Marsh, Erin of Quanah, Beverly Marsh of Chillicothe, Corbin Ashcraft, Jasye of Amarillo, Carson Ashcraft, Ariana of Quanah, Jaron Marsh of Colorado Springs, Kendi Ashcraft of Amarillo, Kagen Welch and Jacoby Johnson of Chillicothe; and his sister Dixie Goodrum of Missouri. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home (210 W 3rd St, Quanah, TX 79252). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pease River Cowboy Church. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at the Goodlett Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Red Cross.
