He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Able and Marion Joyce Able (Roth). He is survived by: his wife Dora Able of Quanah; and his children, Reji Valadez (Brittany) of Quanah, Hilary Ligons of New Mexico and Jessica Pena of Harlingen, Texas. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
