Darla Jo Walkup Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Darla Jo Walkup of Quanah, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 18, 2025 at the age of 54. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Mary Jo Davis Gravley; and her mother-in-law Veda Walkup. She is survived by: her father Derwood Gravley of Quanah; her husband Shawn Walkup of Quanah; her son Chase "Cowboy" Walkup of Quanah; her sisters, Jerolyn Beyer (Craig) of Abilene and Judith Gravley (Allen Moffett) of Anson; her sister-in-law Sheryl Dunn (Monty) of Childress; her niece Sheyenne Leija (Eric) of Portsmouth, Virginia; and her nephew Isaiah Dunn of Childress. She is also survived by three great-nephews, and many cherished cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home (210 W 3rd St, Quanah, TX 79252). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (601 S Main St, Quanah, TX 79252).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a local charity of your choice, in honor of Darla's giving spirit.
