He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus P. Carson and Myrtle Carson (Foster); his wife Evelyn Jo Farmer; his son John Jr.; his brother Bill; his grandchildren, Candee and Wesley; and his great grandchild Maclay.
He is survived by: his son Ben; his grandchildren, Candace, Anthony, Stephen and Jennifer; and his great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Chloe, Trey, Gabriella, Cooper, Harper and Caleb.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Quail Community Center.
