It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dwayne Maxie Sackett of Poynor, Texas, born in Jacksonville, Texas, who passed away on October 17, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Maxie Sackett and Mildred Thedford; his siblings, Richard Sackett and Mary Louise Sackett; and his sister-in-law Mary Louise Sackett.
He is survived by: his significant other Kelly Sackett of Poynor, TX.; his children, Daryl Sackett (Joanne) of Olive Branch, MS, Shawn Sackett, Josh Sackett of Poynor, TX. and Jared Sackett of Fredricksburg, VA.; his sister Margaret Lane of Winnsboro, TX.; his grandchildren, Erik Sackett (Katherine), Katie Sackett, Morgan Sackett, Wyatt Sackett, Leah Sackett, Orrin Sackett and Addelyn Sackett; and his great grandchildren, Noah Sackett, Winter Sackett and Evelyn Sackett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and numerous nephews and extended family, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, he's asked for donations be sent to the Texas Thoroughbred Educational Fund (tteflogo).
