Bruce Murray wrote a sympathy message

“For 34 years I called Paul Mayfield my next-do neighbor. Lately he mentioned to me that he couldn't remember ever having "a cross word" with me and he said that is not normal for him! I enjoyed Paul. We made fun of each other - me being a Yankee and he a Redneck. What a fun guy to be neighbors with. He used to show up at my shop whenever he couldn't get one of his 2 cycle engines to start or if he just wanted to hang with a vodka (no ice). He was a kind, smart and just a plain GOOD person.”
