He was predeceased by: his parents, Zella Kennon and Luther Kennon; and his brother Vernon Kennon. He is survived by: his daughter Carla Marie (late JJ Kent); his wife Doris Finke Kennon; his daughter Vicki Jones (Dennis Jones); his grandchildren, Victoria Jones (Ryan Nayes), Stephen Jones and Brandon Kent; his great grandchildren, Willowlyn Jones Nayes and Evie Jones Nayes; and also, Carl and Etta Finke. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family is accepting plants and flowers, or donations can also be sent to Georgetown Baptist Church in his name.
