He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Rutledge and Aline Rutledge; and his brothers, Gerald, Dudley and Kenneth.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Williams of Pottsboro, TX; his children, Beverly, Charles Rutledge and Shonda of Cooper, TX; and his sister Joy Sexton. He is also survived by his six grandchildren other extended family and friends.
