He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Anna Shearrer Palmer; his parents, Clayton A. Palmer and Nellie G Palmer; and his brothers, Robert Smith, Clayton Palmer and Dick Palmer.
He is survived by: his siblings, Leonard Palmer and Carol Philippi; his daughters, Sherry Palmer Sikes, Donna Palmer Asbury (Alvin Asbury) and Hope Palmer Slaughter (Rick Slaughter); and his grandchildren, Jeff Sikes, Ronda Brewer, Stephen Sikes, Sandy Reeson, Nathan Sikes, Melanie Orebo and Faith Miller. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
