He is survived by: his wife Kathy Irvine Newman of Port Neches; his children, Dariel Newman (Jodi) of Pearland and Dana Newman of Nederland; his grandchildren, Dr. Michael Newman of San Antonio, Officer Jared Newman and Kaylie Perez of Conroe; his brother Winston Newman of Port Neches; and his godson Adam Arrendondo.
