She was predeceased by: her husband Gabriel Raphael Hanks; her parents, Lawrence Sonnier and Aggie Marie Sonnier; her son Gerald Hanks; her granddaughters, Anna Christine Presley and Sarah Marie Hanks; and her siblings, L. J. Sonnier, Thomas Sonnier and Lucille LaSalle.
She is survived by: her children, Rita Presley (Gary) of DeRidder, Louisiana, Robert Hanks (Susan) of Groves, Texas, Mary Hanks of Port Arthur, Texas, Charles Hanks (Denise) of Vidor, Texas and Nancy Bernard of Nederland, Texas.; her grandchildren, Brian Hanks, Gary Hanks, Michael Hanks, Jennifer Jackson, David Hanks, Kelsey Hanks and Jessica Bernard; and her great grandchildren, Austin Hanks, Madalyn Lindley, Beaux Lindley, Sara Lindley, Tommy Arnold, Debbie Arnold and Katie Arnold.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Melancon Levingston Funeral Home (2001 Nall St, Port Neches, TX 77651). A rosary was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church (6412 Garnet Ave, Port Arthur, TX 77640).
