She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Karnes and Rae Karnes; her siblings, Cheryl, Terry, Jimmie and Sonny; and her grandson Andrew.

She is survived by: her husband John Avara; her sons, Jon and Kevin; her niece Corrie; her grandchildren, Juliana, Annabelle, Emily, Jon, Paul, Kelcey, Kayleigh and Briana; and her brother Clifford.
