He was predeceased by: his parents, Arbie Boyd and Ruby Elswick Boyd; his brothers, Ronal, Waymon and Bobby Boyd; and his granddaughter Blair Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Knox Boyd; his children, Amanda Boyd of Houston, Sandra Boyd McClendon of Port Lavaca, Crystal Boyd Flowers (Christopher) of Rocky Point, N. C., Heather Boyd Schumaker of Port Lavaca, Leslie Boyd of Seadrift and Anthony Marek of Houston; and his brother Cecil Boyd (Carol) of Victoria. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
