We are sad to announce that on October 9, 2024, at the age of 95, Mary Virginia Roemer Balez (Port Lavaca, Texas), born in Seadrift, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Mary Virginia Roemer departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Mary Virginia Roemer. Though Mary Virginia Roemer may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Wilson and Lillian Belle Cook Roemer; and her husband Ernest J. Balez. She is survived by: her children, Kathleen "Kathee" Steubing (Francis E.), Virginia Staat (David), Steve Parker (Diane) and Candace Hahn (Gary). She is also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

In remembrance of Ginger Balez's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
