John William Stewart Jr. Obituary

In loving memory of John William Stewart Jr. of Port Lavaca, Texas, who departed this world on January 31, 2025 at the age of 77. John William leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John William Stewart, Sr. and Evelyn Browning Stewart; his significant other Carol Anne Poston Stewart; his siblings, Margaret Stewart Farr, Elaine Stewart Rose, Eileen Stewart of Troy and Gary Stewart (Sarah) of Lake Jackson, Texas; and his children, Sandra Jean Williams (Ben) of Bastrop, Texas, Dianne Rene Duke (James) of Colleyville, Texas, Lee Thomas Stewart (Christine) of Elgin and Trina Bradley (Brent) of Sulfur, Louisiana.. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous extended family.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home (123 Newlin St, Port Lavaca, TX 77979). A rosary was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church (415 W Austin St, Port Lavaca, TX 77979). A burial was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at the Port Lavaca Cemetery (500 Martin Luther King Dr, Port Lavaca, TX 77979).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic School, 301 South San Antonio Street, Port Lavaca, Texas 77979.
