He is survived by: his wives, Phyllis Randolph West and Rosie; his sons, John N. Dermit Jr. of Katy, Charles R. Dermit (Sherrie) of Victoria, Stephen D. Dermit and Mark K. Dermit; his stepdaughters, Anna Goodman and Katy Fojt (Greg); his grandchildren, Jennifer Baker of Victoria, Damon Baker (Kristy) of Victoria, Phyllis Heintschel (Willie) of Victoria, John N. Dermit III (Veronica), Blair M. Dermit of Houston, Justin W. Dermit of Tyler, Samantha, Savannah, Tommy and David Woodward; his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn A. Dermit, Jessica R. Mayfield, Ashton R. Baker, Emajyn J. Baker, Jonathan M. Dermit and Isabella M. Dermit; his half-sister Joy Dermit Perkins; his children, Schatzie Culbreth and Jimmy Darley; his half-sister Carol Sue Dermit Banks; his children, Samantha Banks and Charlie Banks Jr.; his sister-in-law Mary W. Brenan; his nephews, Roger Logan of Kentucky and David Logan of Virginia; and his niece Cynthia M. Shepler of Fort Worth.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Port Lavaca or the Hospice of South Texas.
