He was predeceased by: his parents, John Koenig and Sylvia Koenig; and his siblings, Robert, Emil and Margie.

He is survived by: his wife Rose Marie Koenig; his children, Melissa Koenig and Kevin Koenig; and his sisters, Dorothy Wilkerson (Bob) and Gladys Hanselman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
