With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Geneva Gallegos Escalante (Port Lavaca, Texas), born in Karnes City, Texas, who passed away on October 1, 2022 at the age of 73. She was predeceased by: her father Eduardo Gallegos; her husband Miguel Escalante, Sr.; and her brothers, Felipe Lamas, Raymond Gallegos, Lalo Gallegos and Edward Gallegos.

She is survived by: her mother Hilaria Lamas Camarillo; her children, Mary Jane Escalante, Irene Escalante, Jennie Collins (Jeremy), Monica Escalante, Joe Baladez, Miguel Escalante, Jr., Ralph Escalante, Ted Escalante, Abraham Escalante and Adrian Escalante; and her siblings, Maria Garcia, Minnie Tonsul, Lupita Mata and Joe Gallegos. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
