She was predeceased by: her parents, Marcelino Garza and Guadalupe Islas Garza; her husband Eddie Cumpian Sr.; her son Eddie Cumpian Jr.; and her sister-in-law Mary Rose Garza.

She is survived by: her children, Ruby Ruiz of Victoria, Sylvia Yanes of Palacios, Minnie Ruiz (Leo) of Port Lavaca, Lisa "YaYa" Cumpian of Port Lavaca, Oscar Cumpian of Port Lavaca, Emma Cisneros (Ernest) of Victoria, Frances Daniel (Mike) of Port Lavaca and Melissa Hopper (Keith) of Austwell; and her brother Frank Garza of Corpus Christi. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
