She is survived by: her daughter Mireya I. Almaraz; and her siblings, Silverio Bocanegra, Apolonia Bocanegra-Severson, Blanca Bocanegra, Juanita Shihadeh (Mohamed), Gabriella Bocanegra, Estefana Newton (Zailo) and Virginia S. Friez (Joe). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
