He was predeceased by: his father Gilberto Bernal Sr.; and his sister Mary Bernal-Ray. He is survived by: his mother Enriqueta Bernal-Pena; his daughters, Christina Marie Bernal and Ronda Concannon; his siblings, Richard Bernal, Isabel Valdez and Lucy Puente; and his great grandchildren, Michael Valentin Flores, Matthew Alexander Flores and Violet Mabel Bernal. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
