Edward Lancaster Varnam Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Lancaster Varnam of Port Isabel, Texas, who passed away on April 25, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mothers, Eunice Varnam and Carrie Varnam; his brothers, Robert Varnam and Charles Varnam; his nephew James Varnam Jackson; and his siblings-in-law, Leo "Speck" Sanders, Robert "Bob" McNeely and Sue Varnam.
He is survived by: his wife Maria De Jesus Varnam; his daughter Ana Cristina Teter (Mark); his grandsons, Travis Varnam Teter and Nicolas Edward Teter; his sisters, Nancy Sanders, Daisy McNeely and Rosemary Varnam; and his sister-in-law Mary Varnam. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and friends.
In lieu of floral arrangements and customary remembrances, the family feels it would have been special to Lanny if memorial contributions were made to the following organizations: The South Texas ISD Education Foundation (donations can be made by calling 956-514-4252), which provides scholarships for seniors at the school where Lanny taught. In addition, donations may be made to benefit Rio Grande Valley students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in grades K-12 in memory of Edward "Lanny" Lancaster Varnam Fund at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Division of Institutional Advancement, 701 E. Expressway 83, Box #13, McAllen, TX 78501.
