With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Yvonne Sutherlin formerly of Port Arthur, Texas, who passed away on August 3, 2020 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary S. Aaron and Jewell C. Aaron; her sister Shirley Faye Williams; her husband James E. Sutherlin; and her son James A. Sutherlin.

She is survived by: her daughter Beth Anne Sutherlin Coakley (Ron) of Bedford, TX; her daughter-in-law Lynne Lange; her son David Franklin Sutherlin (Annie) of Tyler, TX; her grandchildren, Lynn Coakley Jones (Andy), Aaron James Sutherlin (Molly), Erin Coakley Silmon (Keith) and Kendall Paul Sutherlin; and her great grandchildren, Haley, Avery, Nate, Ellis, Harper and Levi.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Museum of the Gulf Coast, 700 Procter Street, Port Arthur, Texas 77640 or Friends of the Port Arthur Public Library, 3601 Cultural Center Drive, Port Arthur, Texas 77640.

“Getting to know my cousin Yvonne later in life was a real blessing for me. She was a lovely woman with much knowledge and warmth to share. I'm glad she was a part of my life, albeit well after I was an adult. My cousin Anne has sent me several treasured pictures of my dad, John Thomas Shurley, him in his WWII Lieutenant's uniform, and his young nieces, Yvonne and her sister. I'm so glad I have now made a connection with Yvonne's daughter, Anne, and the circle goes on.”
