He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Shifflett and Mae Shifflett; and his grandson Jacob Ryan Shifflett. He is survived by: his sons, Ryan Matthew Shifflett (Natalee) of Anahuac and Damon Russell Shifflett (Sheryl) of Texas City; his grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Madison, Raven and Chloe; his great grandchildren, Liam, Lennon, Luna, Stella and Rosalie; his siblings, Mary Franklin (Norman), Lawrence Joe Shifflett, Iva Lee Murphy, Birdie Nell Lee and Lloyd Bruce Shifflett; his niece Dianna Berrett; and his nephews, James Lee and Levi Decker. He is also survived by 30 great nieces and nephews.
His proudest accomplishments included obtaining two patents for innovative contributions to the oilfield, specifically for his Ryan Mud/Gas Separator and Damon's Tool.
