It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vivian F. Broussard Gates of Port Arthur, Texas, born in Abbeville, Louisiana, who passed away on June 27, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Armand Frederick and Suzanne LaVergne Frederick; her former husbands, Wilfred A. Broussard and Nelson W. Gates; her siblings, Joseph Haywood Frederick and Una Palumbo; and her stepdaughters, Ginger Goates and Dale Simon.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Desormeaux (Donald) of Port Neches, James W. Broussard of Port Arthur and Paul A. Broussard (Denise) of Fannett; her stepchildren, Maudine White (Paul) of Port Acres and Gary Gates (Cherry) of Groves; and her grandchildren, Michael Desormeaux (Anna), Donna Segura (Leslie Rosson) and Kevin Broussard (Lindsay). She is also survived by five great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, twelve step grandchildren, and thirty four step great grandchildren.
