He was predeceased by: his parents, Ples Mitchell and Lou Ida Mitchell; his siblings, Ples "Buddy" Mitchell, Jr., Dave Mitchell, Wesley Mitchell, Viola Rivers and Geraldine Mitchell; his daughter Ramona Gail Mitchell Jenkins; and also, Levi White, Cora White, Mary Franklin, Uncle and Raymond.
He is survived by: his wife Pearl Esther; his sister Cora Cormier Carter; his children, Pamela Wise, Roy Anthony "Tony" Mitchell (Ethel Annette), Glenda Fisk, Rozlyn Guillory, Cheryl Gibbs, Kimberly Smith (Trent), Raymond Todd Mitchell, Ghengis Mitchell (Genean) and Eryca Mitchell; and his friend Anthony Craig Landry. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
