He is survived by: his children, Demeatria Hughes, LaTasha Benson, Alasha Norman and Rashad Jay Benson (Thomandra); his siblings, Curley Benson, Melvin Benson, Jr. (Betty), Milton Benson, Charlene Goudeau, Mary Jason (Andrew) and Gwen Benson (Dwight); and his goddaughter Tara Jason-Robinson.
