With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Oscar Alvarez Vara of Port Arthur, Texas, who passed away on March 1, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Vara and Delores Alvarez Vara; and his siblings, Alice Hernandez, Robert Vara, Ray Vara, Raymond Vara, Toni Guerrero, Rosa Availa and Carol Chauvin.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Vara; and his children, Anna Lalonde (Kenny), Tina Kendrick (Dale), Sonia Calvo (Ken), Lisa Savoie and Oscar Manny Vara (Leah). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors (5200 W Parkway St, Groves, TX 77619). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
