He is survived by: his children, Deborah Stanley (Joseph) of Starks, LA, Neely H. Byrd, Jr. (Linda) of Lumberton and Glenn E. Byrd (Rynada) of Orange; his brother Harold Byrd of Lufkin; his grandchildren, Stacy Beard (Devon), Andrea Plate (Patrick) and Syndey Taquino (Daniel); and his great grandchildren, Colten Beard, Kaylin Stanley, Arabella Plate, Flynn Plate and Madison Taquino.
