She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Albert Dewey and June Johnson Fawvor; her husband James Larry Waits; her children, Al Waits of Port Arthur, Texas and Dolores Waits McCarter (Jim) of LaBelle, Texas; her grandchildren, Austin McCarter and Kaitlin McCarter; and her siblings, Billy Ray Fawvor (Christine) of Austin and Joyce Roberson (Richard) of Port Arthur.

To honor her love for the church, in lieu of flowers the family is asking that memorials in her honor be made to St. John's UMC.

“She walked the Christian walk as a secondary teacher. One morning she approached a young boy in the hall and said “Hey_____I bet your foot is the same size as mine! Are you a __size?” The next morning he found a new pair in his locker! His old shoes were so ragged, he could barely keep them on. A Port Neches church friend her age said sometimes she’d find flowers on her front porch from June.”
