He was predeceased by: his parents, Reyes Montalvo and Alfonso Montalvo; his wife Guadalupe "Toby" Soliz Montalvo of Valentine's Day; and his siblings, Elizabeth Montalvo Chapa, Stella Montalvo Garcia, Alfred Montalvo, Eleanor Montalvo Collazo, Catherine Montalvo Y'Barro, Henrietta Montalvo Morua and Alice Montalvo Martinez.

He is survived by: his children, Ann Frances Montalvo Broussard (Kim) of Groves and Damian Jesse Montalvo (Christina) of Magnolia; his grandchildren, Heather Broussard, Alisha Ann Lawrence (JoJo) of Nederland, Courtney Broussard, Jesse Christopher Montalvo and Sarah Montalvo; and his great grandchildren, Dean Broussard Castillo and Oliver Broussard Castillo.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Clayton - Thompson Funeral Directors (5200 W Parkway St, Groves, TX 77619). A rosary was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church South Sgt (3648 S/Sgt. Lucian Adams Drive, 61st St, Port Arthur, TX 77642). A burial was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 3:15 PM at the Oak Bluff Memorial Park (101 Block St, Port Neches, TX 77651).
