He was predeceased by: his father Roy Charles, Sr.; his wife Stella Mae Charles; his mother Annie Mae Charles; his brother Emile Charles; his daughter-in-law Lillie A. Charles; and his brother-in-law Leroy Elliott.
He is survived by: his sons, Hardy J. Charles (Carla) of Beaumont, Michael A. Charles of Port Arthur and Clifton E. Charles (Karen) of Sugar Land, Texas; his siblings, Roy Charles, Jr. of Port Arthur, Texas and Beulah Elliott of Port Arthur, Texas; and his grandchildren, Michelle Charles, Michael Charles, Jr. of Port Arthur, Hardy B. Charles, Harlan Charles of Beaumont and Caleb Joshua Charles of Sugar Land, Texas. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
