It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emma Jean Ramirez (Port Arthur, Texas), born in Hackberry, Louisiana, who passed away on January 16, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Ivy Simon and Rose Mary Cortez Simon; her husband Frank Ramirez; her son Bobby Thomas Shackelford, Jr.; and her sister Evelyn Chesson.
She is survived by: her sons, Larry Shackelford (Carmen) of Nederland and Loren Shackelford (Bonnie) of Tupelo, Mississippi; her grandchildren, Ashley Shackelford, Kayla Norman and Julia Shackelford; her great grandchild Julianna Harris; her brothers, Joseph Ivy Simon, Jr. of Forest Hill and Howard Simon of Vidor; and her brother-in-law Richard Chesson.
