She was predeceased by: her parents, Booker T. Simmons, Sr. and Zelma Scurry Simmons; her husband J. W. Samuel; her sisters, Iris Rigsby (E. L.) and Barbara Strickland (Cecil); her brothers-in-law, L. D. Laday, Alton Gordon and Samuel Moore; her goddaughter Zeniece Strickland; and her nephews, Louie Todd LaDay and Dashyl LaDay.
She is survived by: her siblings, Jewel Laday of San Francisco, CA, Willie "B. B.", Rev. Booker T. Simmons, Jr. (Joyce) of Lufkin, TX and Alice Moore of Texarkana, TX; her great-niece Lexus M. Williams of Houston, TX; and her children, Rev. Willie and Joyce Parker of Beaumont, TX. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.
