She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonora Mesa and Wilford Armstrong Jr.; her sisters, Angelina Landry and Linda Jones; and her nephew Arnold Rock Landry II.

She is survived by: her husband Joel Hawkins II; her son Joel Hawkins (Shantel) of Pearland; and her niece Angelic Landry. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
