It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alphonse Thomas Sr. of Port Arthur, Texas, who passed away on February 15, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Olivia Ann Merricks-Thomas. He is survived by: his children, Alphonse Thomas Jr. (Darlene) and Adrienne Thomas-Benson (AJ); his siblings, Catherine Theodore, Gloria Brown, Carrie Ambrose (Otis) of Lake Charles, LA., Earnestine Brown of Aransas Pass, TX and Leslie Thomas (Janet) of Chicago, IL.; and his niece Willie Ester Opelousas. He is also survived by six grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren.
