She was predeceased by: her husband Jesse William Smith; her siblings, Winnie Fontenot, Lorena Hebert, Bernice Savoie and Wilson Trahan; and her children-in-law, Hardy Broussard (Shirline) and Wendy Lynd Smith (Charles).
She is survived by: her children, Shirline A. Broussard of Orange, Charles D. Smith of Beaumont, Phyllis M. Nash of Lake Charles, Hadrian Smith of Port Acres and Stacie A. Taylor of Kennadale; and her sister Betty LaBove of Little Chenire, Louisiana. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
