He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillie Eugenia (Walker) and James Albert Grumbles; his wife Myrtle Grumbles (Doss); his son Derrell; his daughter-in-law Billie Thacker; his grandson Bradley Sherrard; his siblings, Leon Grumbles, James A. Grumbles and Beatrice Steel; and his close friend Don Byrd.
He is survived by: his daughters, Joyce Crippen of Pollok, Nancy Lout of Diboll, Sheila Thacker of Lufkin and Lisa Sherrard (Robert) of Pollok; his sister-in-law Charlie (Ruth Grumbles); his sister Lillie; his brother-in-law Billy Joe Pierce of Diboll; and his close friends, Larry, Lisa Bailey, Riley, Jan O'Quinn and Dru McMillon. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother.
