He was predeceased by: his parents, Effie Colvin (Richardson) and Calvin Sherrill Marshall; and his siblings, Janet Dixon and Thomas Marshall. He is survived by: his sons, John Calvin (Misty Marshall) and Steven Ryan Marshall of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and his grandchildren, Trent Marshall, T. J. Marshall, Karis Marshall, Jayci Marshall and Tayla Marshall. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
