He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Commiato and Katy Commiato (Pizzalato); and his son Shannon Commiato. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Commiato (Kwiatkowski) of Point Blank, Texas; his children, Tiffany Cammiato of Madisonville, Jamie Brewer of Onalaska, Texas and Johnny Commiato, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Tonya of Point Blank, Texas; his daughter Catherine Allison of Livingston, Texas; and his siblings, Anthony Commiato, Renee of Kenard, Texas, Nancy Boyd of Houston and Rosalie Ethridge of Lufkin, Texas. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Point Blank Community Church (432 Robinson Way, Point Blank, TX 77364). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
