He was predeceased by: his parents, James Robert Sr. and Betty Rose Frazier Hulse; his nephew Wayne Smith; and his brother-in-law Ronnie Joe Suel. He is survived by: his wife Katina Diane Hulse of Point; his children, Zachary Hulse of Quinlan, Shelby Little (Chad Crow) of Point and Cheyenne Little of Ashdown, Arkansas; his siblings, Jerry Hulse of Ashdown, Arkansas, Dixie Hulse of Arkansas and Dee Anne (Austin Lewellen) of East Tawakoni; his grandchildren, Elvis, Ashton and Bryer; and his pet Felix. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
