Mom was a devoted woman of God and a passionate lover of life. She had a zest for life that was truly admirable. Even in the most severe pain she wanted to do for others and be outside in the sunshine. She was a positive influence on all she came into contact with. She participated in 100's of charity marathons in support of breast cancer research. She always came home with a medal! She was tenacious in her beliefs of living a better now and a perfect after life when she could join her beloved husband Sal and son Wayne both of whom predeceased her. She loved her job of 15+ years as bookkeeper of Community Bible Chapel until her recent retirement. She loved her church and enjoyed being able to offer aid and comfort to her community through the generous support and programs administered by the church. She was an accomplished artist and had quite the eclectic collection of things found along the road that she envisioned painting, carving or wood burning on. She could be seen walking along Hwy 281 always in training and finding joy in the at least 6 mile "strolls" she often did. Most people knew her or became familiar with her and her special walking gear and rolling gate. Pop called her " the rock and roller". We joked with her about being the street walker. The police sometimes pulled her over for a wellness check which she did not find humorous. She never thought enough of herself to accept the fact that she had such a positive impact and became a role model for so many to just get out there and walk. She lost over 150lbs in her love of walking. She kept her kidney function as tip top as she could while waiting for a transplant. She refused to believe it wouldn't come. She had the spirit of a child and could be just down right irritating in her positivity about all things life and death. She had a tremendous love of the ocean and any and every opportunity to go to the beach with her beach buddy T was top priority. She was a friend, a counselor, a mother figure and supportive witness to her friends that knew her best. She always made time for people. Those closest to her were there for her always. ME, T, Kathy, Joseph. You all are the stuff love is made of! They were by her side when she passed. As was her youngest son Matt. She is survived by son Matt and Joey, daughter Marcie, grandkids Kyle, Abbee, Brandon and Wayne Jr. as well as her sister and brother and many many cousins, nieces and nephews throughout California and Missouri. She is greatly missed but we find solace in knowing she no longer suffers in agonizing pain, and she can rock and roll on with her beloved family.
