It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Franklin Shaver of Pleasanton, Texas, who passed away on March 12, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Frank and Viola Quinney Shaver; his sister Margie Murphy; his brother-in-law Rip Rippstein; his granddaughter Lezli Lambeck; and the mother of his children Ann Shaver Knox.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel Shaver; his children, Jimmy Shaver (Denyse) of Brownfield, Jamie Lambeck (Jeff) of Stockdale, Mary Ann Vontur (Kenneth) of Victoria and Kim Kinnison (Jeff) of Seguin; his sister Mary Pearl Rippstein of Woodsboro; and his grandchildren, Kenny Vontur, Daphne Lainer, Russell Rafter, Brandon Lambeck, Brad Lambeck and Colton Kinnison. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granchild.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Hurley Funeral Home (118 W Oaklawn Rd, Pleasanton, TX 78064). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Steele Branch Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Zanderson Masonic Lodge #1120, 1305 E State Highway 97, Jourdanton, Texas 78026.
