He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bobbie Ruth Lockett Nash and James Whitten; his wife Rose Barnes Hill; and his stepson Zachary Hill.

He took trips to La Paz , Bolivia with Samaritan's Purse and Honduras with Rice Foundation, traveling with Doctors from BSA. Eric went to Honduras with Rice Foundation at least 9 times to repair cleft lips and palates in children and Eric was the scrub tech.
