He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Faye Plank and Felton Thompson; his stepfather E. L. Plank; his wife Pat; his daughter Darci Rae Heiskell (Steve); his son-in-law Troy Thompson; his grandson Matthew Sweatt; his sisters, Dorothy Hawkins (Joe) and Karen Feagley; and his nephew Freada Warren (Thompson).
He is survived by: his daughter Stephanie Thompson Sweatt (David) of Baron's Ball; his grandchildren, Landon Ross Thompson, Abby, Zachary Heiskell, Nicole, Madison Heiskell and Joe; his great grandchildren, Aurora Heiskell, Harvey Ross and Amelia Thompson; and his caregiver Amanda Medina.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel (3605 SW 3rd, Plainview, TX 79072).
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the: PHS athletic Hall of Honor.
