He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward Sr. and Phyliss June McKinney Stephens. He is survived by: his wife Linda E. Stephens; his children, Jonathan Paul Stephens of Gilmer, Michael Alan Stephens of Joaquin, Chad Allen Stephens of Gilmer and Melissa Faye Stephens of North Carolina; and his siblings, Charlie Cooper, Todd Stephens, Mary June Geyer, Brenda Kay Breger, Pam Stephens and Joyce Devoe. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
