He was predeceased by: his parents, William Wesley Hooper and Wilma Inez Shepherd Hooper; his daughter Nita DeWoody; his siblings, Chesley Hooper, Charles Cebren Hooper and Dorothy Davis; and his granddaughter Kailey Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Jenkins Hooper of Pittsburg; his daughters, Wendy Warren (Jimmy) of Big Sandy and Christi Denney (John) of Pittsburg; his son-in-law Kent DeWoody of Pittsburg; his grandchildren, Kole DeWoody (Jessie), Reece DeWoody (Kayli), Brianne Jones, Austin Jones, Clara Denney and Adelyn Denney; his great grandchildren, Annabeth DeWoody and Rhodes DeWoody; and his brother Wayne Hooper.
