He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Sample and Mae Metcalf Sample; and his great grandchild Rally Laken Roopchand. He is survived by: his wife Myrtle Wilbanks Sample; his children, Angie Dunavant (James), Bubba Sample (Rhonda) and Tammie Spiker (Ray); his grandchildren, Candace Setina (Joe), Jennifer Rainey (Dugan), Samantha Roopchand (Bobby), Cyndel Wainwright (Jared), Amanda Sample and Justin Sample; his brother Ronald Sample (Deborah); and his sisters-in-law, Deloris Sample and Margie Elliot. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.
